Alarm monitoring / Brisbane

Alarm monitoring in Brisbane

Someone watching at 2am, without the three year contract and the call centre that usually come with it.

No obligation, and no one will chase you afterwards.

Back to base monitoring means that when your alarm triggers, a control room sees it and acts, whether you are asleep, overseas or in a meeting. NQB Security arranges monitoring for homes and businesses across South East Brisbane, priced per site and set out in writing before you agree to anything. If you would rather self-monitor through the app, that works too, and you can add back to base later without changing the system.

Trigger points

Start with what should happen when the alarm goes off

Monitoring only works if the call list and response steps are actually right for your site.

02

How back to base monitoring works

When the alarm triggers, the signal goes to the receiver. The operators follow the response plan agreed for your site: typically contacting you and your nominated people in order, and escalating from there. The point is that a 2am alarm is acted on at 2am, not discovered on your phone at 7.

Self-monitoring through the app

Every system we install can run self-monitored at no monthly cost: the alarm triggers, your phone tells you, and you decide what to do. It suits plenty of homes, and it is an honest option most companies bury because it does not carry a monthly fee. The trade-off is that it depends on you seeing the notification. A phone on silent at 2am is the whole difference between the two options.

Monitoring for commercial sites

For commercial sites, monitoring is usually less about break-ins and more about accountability: arm and disarm reporting that shows the site was actually secured each night, alerts when it was not, and a record your insurer and your director both understand. Monitoring pairs naturally with a service agreement, so faults surfaced by the control room have somewhere to go.

No lock-in, and what that actually means

Monitoring here is month to month per site. What it covers, what it costs and how you leave are set out before you sign anything. If you have been burned by a three year monitoring contract before, that experience is common, and it is the reason this section exists.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does alarm monitoring cost?

Monitoring is priced per site, set out in writing before you agree, and runs month to month. Self-monitoring through the app costs nothing ongoing.

Self-monitored means the alarm notifies your phone and you respond. Back to base means a control room sees the alarm and follows an agreed response plan, whether or not you see your phone. Self-monitoring suits people who are reachable; back to base suits businesses, frequent travellers and anyone who wants it handled at 2am without their involvement.

Usually, yes. If the existing system is in working order and can communicate, it can generally be connected to monitoring. We inspect it first, fix anything that would cause false alarms, and document it, because a monitored system that false-triggers weekly costs you money and goodwill.

No. Monitoring runs per site with the inclusions set out up front. If you want to stop, you stop. The system keeps working self-monitored; you are not left with dead equipment the way some bundled contracts leave people.

The control room follows the response plan agreed for your site: contacting you and your nominated people in order. For faults rather than alarms, you call 1300 153 645 and it is treated as a fault, not a sales call.
