Whatever is installed and whoever installed it, we will diagnose it properly and give you a straight answer before touching anything.
No obligation, and no one will chase you afterwards.
When a security system fails, the problem is rarely the fault itself. It is finding someone who will actually turn up and fix it, especially when the original installer has gone quiet. NQB Security repairs and services alarms, CCTV, access control and intercoms across South East Brisbane, including systems we did not install. Call 1300 153 645, say it is a fault, and it gets treated as one, not routed into a quote queue.
A repair starts with a proper diagnosis, not a straight-to-replacement quote.
01
What happens: fault checked against your site record, or documented on the spot if none exists
02
What happens: straightforward faults fixed on the visit, bigger jobs quoted first
03
What happens: what was replaced or adjusted gets added to your site record
The common ones: alarms that false-trigger until everyone stops arming them. Access control doors that will not unlock, with staff standing in the car park. Cameras that quietly stopped recording months ago, discovered the day the footage was needed. Intercoms that buzz but will not release the door. Batteries and power supplies at end of life. If yours is not on the list, describe it and we will tell you on the phone whether it needs a visit.
Most of the repair work we do is on other installers’ systems, because the pattern is always the same: responsive for the first year, unreachable by the third. Brands we commonly service include Bosch, Hikvision, Dahua, Inner Range, Ajax, and older Tecom and Challenger systems. If the honest answer is that the system is at end of life, you will hear that with the reasoning, not a reflexive replacement quote.
Diagnose first: the fault is checked against your site record, or documented on the spot if none exists. Then fix or quote: straightforward faults are fixed on the visit; bigger jobs are quoted before work proceeds. Then document: what was faulty, what was replaced or adjusted, and the warranty on the fix all go into your site record, so the next fault starts from history instead of you re-explaining everything over the phone.
Three sites, gear from three installers, no documentation on any of it, and no one to call: that is the situation most multi-site operators are actually in. A takeover means we inspect what exists, record it in plain language, fix what is broken, and become the one number for all of it. Takeover clients get the same site record every new install gets.
01
Doors, credentials and site records that do not leave the next person guessing.
02
Cameras positioned to identify people and footage you can find when it matters.
03
Systems that staff and households can arm and disarm without a manual.
04
Apartment, strata and commercial entry systems with a documented handover.
06
A fault path for systems that have stopped working or been left undocumented.
Call 1300 153 645 now and say it is an access control fault. Doors powered to lock fail locked, so this is treated as urgent. While you wait: if the door has a mechanical key override, use it; if a battery backup has died, do not keep cycling the power. Diagnosis starts from your site record if one exists.
Yes, and this is one of the most common calls we get. We diagnose the system, fix the fault, and document what is installed while we are there, so this is the last time the installer disappearing leaves you stranded. It does not matter that we did not install it.
Night false-triggers usually trace to a failing detector battery, an aging sensor, insects or pets in a detection zone, or a loose contact. It is diagnosable, and worth diagnosing quickly, because households that stop arming a false-triggering alarm effectively have no alarm. Most false-trigger faults are resolved in one visit.
The callout covers diagnosis against your site record. Straightforward faults are fixed on the spot within that visit where parts allow; anything bigger is quoted before work proceeds, so the callout never silently becomes a large invoice.
