CCTV installation in Brisbane

Build coverage around the question you will need to answer later. Sight lines, light and retrieval matter more than camera count.

No obligation, and no one will chase you afterwards.

CCTV only proves its worth after something happens, when you need footage that shows a face, a plate or a clear sequence of events. NQB Security installs security camera systems for homes and businesses across South East Brisbane, designed backwards from that moment. That means cameras positioned to identify people, cabling that survives a Brisbane summer, recording set up with sensible retention, and a handover where you learn to find and export footage yourself.

A camera is only useful when the field of view, mounting height, light conditions and recording path answer the right question after an incident.

What a proper CCTV installation includes

The site visit covers entries, driveways and vehicle areas, blind spots, night lighting, and where the recorder should live. The install covers the cameras and mounting, cabling run and terminated properly rather than draped through the roof space, the recorder configured with retention that suits your risk, and remote viewing on your phone. Before we leave, you pull up footage, scrub back through time and export a clip yourself. If you cannot do that without us, the handover is not finished.

Cameras placed to identify, not just record

The most common failure in CCTV is not equipment. It is placement: a camera mounted high and wide that shows a hooded figure crossing the yard and nothing a police report can use. We position cameras at the choke points where a person must pass close and face-on, then use wider views for context. Fewer cameras placed well beat more cameras placed badly, and they cost less.

Commercial CCTV for warehouses, clinics and multi-site businesses

Commercial sites add requirements homes do not have: longer cable runs, coverage of loading docks and tills, retention that satisfies insurers or compliance, and footage retrieval that does not depend on one person’s memory of the password. We document the recorder configuration and retrieval process at handover, so footage is available when a manager needs it, not just when we are on the phone.

Home security cameras

For most homes, the goal is straightforward: clear coverage of the front entry, driveway and rear access, with easy viewing from your phone and no unwanted subscription fees. Already have a DIY system that is only partly working? We can assess it during the site visit and let you know whether any of the existing equipment is worth keeping or if replacing it makes more sense.

Camera brands, and a straight answer about them

We design for capability first: the resolution, low-light performance and retention your site needs. Brands we install include Hikvision, Dahua and other proven lines, and we service most existing systems regardless of brand. If brand matters to you for procurement or compliance reasons, tell us early and we will specify within your requirements. That question comes up on some commercial and government-adjacent sites, and it is better answered at the quote than discovered at the audit.

What CCTV installation costs in Brisbane

A four camera residential system usually lands between $2,000 and $3,500 installed, depending on cable runs, camera choice and where the recorder goes. Commercial sites vary more because coverage requirements and cabling distances do. We publish real ranges because being kept in the dark about price is a poor start to a relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CCTV installation cost in Brisbane?

A four camera residential system usually costs $2,000 to $3,500 installed. The range depends on cable runs, camera specification and recorder placement. Commercial systems are quoted per site because coverage requirements vary far more. Anyone giving you a firm number over the phone without seeing the property is guessing.

Most homes are well covered with four to six cameras: front entry, driveway, back approach and any side access. More cameras are not automatically better. A camera at a choke point where a person must pass close and face-on is worth three wide shots of the lawn.

Yes. Every system we install includes remote viewing on your phone, set up and tested before we leave. You can check live views and scrub back through recorded footage from anywhere. No monitoring contract is required for this; it is simply how the system works.

Usually, yes. We inspect what is there, tell you what is worth keeping, and document the system. Common outcomes are keeping cameras and cabling while replacing a failed recorder, or upgrading the worst-placed cameras and leaving the rest. A full rip and replace is the exception, not the rule.

Call 1300 153 645 and say it is a fault. Cameras that quietly stop recording are one of the most common failures we attend, and they are usually only discovered when footage is needed. If we installed the system, diagnosis starts from your site record. If someone else did, we will work it out and document it while we are there.
