Repairs & Service

Already have a system nobody can explain?

We take over existing alarm, CCTV and access control systems, document what is actually installed, and become the one number you call. Most of the sites we look after were put in by someone else.
02 / Who We Are

One person, start to finish

NQB Security is Nikalaus Bowyer. He quotes the job, does the job, and comes back when something needs attention. There is no account manager, no dispatcher, and no technician turning up who has never seen your building.

He has been installing and servicing security systems since 2025 under his own licence, and for years before that on large project work for other companies. That background is why a twenty-four unit intercom upgrade and a nine-storey rooftop camera run are ordinary weeks rather than a stretch.

Licensed security firm under Queensland law. ASIAL member, which satisfies the industry association requirement for a Queensland security licence. Fully insured.

03 / The Working Difference

What you actually get

We turn up.

Systems fail. Batteries die, power supplies drop out, and a door that is powered to lock stays locked with fifteen staff in the car park. What separates installers is the hours after that. The fault path is direct: you call the person who understands the system, not a call centre and ticket number.

The same person, every time.

Whoever quoted your site installed it and will be the one who comes back. Nobody needs briefing twice, and nothing gets lost between a salesperson and a technician.

We document what we build.

At handover you get a record of what is installed, where it runs and how it is configured. If we ever part ways you are not left with a cupboard full of equipment nobody can identify.

Straight answers about cost.

We publish what things generally cost, because being kept in the dark about price is a poor start to a relationship. A real quote still needs a site visit, but you should not have to book one to find out whether you can afford it.

04 / The Process

How a job runs

01

You call or book a site visit.

Tell us what you have got and what is bothering you about it. If something is broken right now, say so and we will treat it that way.

02

We come and look.

No obligation, and nobody will chase you afterwards. Quotes for security work given over the phone without seeing the property are guesses.

03

You get a written quote with the reasoning in it.

What we recommend, what we have left out and why, and what it costs. If it will not work on your site, we will tell you before you spend money.

04

We install it, then show you how to use it.

If your household or staff cannot arm and disarm it without thinking, the install has failed. You also get documentation of what was installed and where it runs.

05

We answer the phone afterwards.

Same number you called the first time. This is the part most installers get wrong and the reason most of our work comes from people someone else let down.

05 / Before you call

Straight answers, before you call

We publish what things cost and how they work, because most people want to understand what they are buying before they talk to anyone.

Where we work

Based in Brisbane and working across the south east. Most of our jobs are within about forty minutes of the city, and we go further for commercial work and for existing clients.

07 / Plain Answers

Questions we get asked in Capalaba

Straight answers to the things people ask before they call.

How much does CCTV installation cost in Capalaba?

A four camera residential system usually lands between $2,000 and $3,500 installed, depending on cable runs, camera choice and where the recorder goes. Commercial sites vary far more because coverage requirements and cabling distances do. Anyone quoting you a number over the phone without seeing the property is guessing.

Can you take over the security system at a site we have just moved into?

Usually, yes. We come out, identify what is there, test it, and document it. Existing Bosch, Hikvision, Dahua and Inner Range gear can generally be taken over and upgraded in stages rather than ripped out.

What does CCTV for a warehouse actually involve?

Coverage of the entry points, the loading area and the yard, at a resolution that identifies a person and a rego plate, with storage sized so the footage is still there weeks later when you need it. We quote after walking the site, because cabling distances drive the cost.

Do you do access control for small commercial sites?

Yes, it is the part of the work we most want. Inner Range Inception and Integriti, installed and configured properly, with the ability to cancel a card the day someone leaves instead of re-keying the building.

Can you service our system on an agreement rather than ad hoc callouts?

Yes. Service agreements are priced per site with what is covered set out up front, which suits sites where downtime has to be explained to someone.

What happens if something breaks?

Call 1300 153 645 and say that it is a fault. You get the direct number of the person who installed your system, not a call centre and a ticket number. Faults are treated as faults, not as new quote requests.

Do I have to sign up to monitoring?

No. Monitoring is optional and priced separately. Plenty of clients run their system self-monitored through the app and add back to base later if they decide they want it. If you do want monitoring, what it covers is set out before you agree to it.
